Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived alongside 12 other kids. The vivid imagination of her mother was a great way to get away from the harsh realities of everyday life. Before she learned to read and write she was making up her own music. In 8 years, she had her very first guitar. At age 11 she started singing at Knoxville Tenn's local radio station. Gold Band Records is a small, independent label. In high school she established herself in the school community but her ambition was bigger. She moved to Nashville shortly after her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted for the first time on Monument Records. Around this time, Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for his television show that was syndicated. Parton began her career in 1967 and signed by RCA Records by 1968, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. She quit Wagoner's act in 1974 after her own singles like Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene beat out the collaborations. Parton composed "I will Always Be Loving You" to Wagoner just after the pair split. The song hit No. In 1974, the song by Parton I Will Always Love You reached the No.
