Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She is a founder of The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington, an independent liberal news website, is a television personality author, author and philanthropist. Originally from Greece she moved to England at the age of 16 and completed her studies at Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. When she was 21, she became the head of the famous debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. Being a conservative syndicated blog, after graduating she was able to be an influential voice for the Huffington Post. The fame of Arianna has led to the attraction of many prominent contributors to share their opinions on the news political, culture and politics. Arianna's popularity was first noticed in 2003 when she declared herself an independent candidate in the California recall election to succeed the then governor Davis. In addition to this, she led the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Her name was voted as the most Popular Women in Media according to Forbes in 2009, and was awarded the 12th spot on that list. That same year Guardian included her in the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her as head of its media division that also includes additional AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos who was a Journalism and management expert. While she was very close with her father, it was the relationship she shared with her mother which shaped her life. When she was a teen she displayed leadership qualities that she still is known for. At 16 years of age she emigrated to the United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university she was a member of the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman president, and also the sole foreign president. In 1972 she received an honorary degree in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a columnist critic, and an anchor on TV. In addition, she was a part of the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from Bernard Levin.
