Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone (pronounced [di:pIka p@dUko:ne (pronounced [pa:dUkoborn on January 5, 1986) is an Indian actress who primarily works in Hindi film productions. It is among the most highly paid actresses in India, and her accolades includes the three Filmfare Awards. Time Magazine named Padukone among the top 100 influential people in the world of 2018. The magazine also presented her with the TIME100 Impact Award 2022. Padukone is the daughter of the famous badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and educated in Bangalore. She competed in national badminton tournaments in her teens, but gave up the sport in order to be a model. Padukone soon got offers for film roles, and she was first seen in 2006 as her character's title in the Kannada movie, Aishwarya. Padukone also played a two-part part alongside Shah Rukh Khan in her debut Bollywood release, a romance Om Shanti Om (2007) and won her an award called the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Padukone's role as the lead on the film Love Aaj Kal was well received, but it was quickly followed by an unfortunate setback.
